Our social responsibility

SRS believes that corporate social investment is an integral part of business in South Africa. Our aim is to support local initiatives and provide financial assistance to:
 
The Greater Benoni Child Welfare, a Society that provides many services including a "Safe Haven" for children of 12 years and younger. Our contributions assist the Society's desperate plight to serve our children in need.

 

Little Eden Society, compising two facilities, which together are "home" to 300 children and adults with profound intellectual disability needing full-time care.
 
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is another notable charity that receives donations from SRS.  

CUSTOMER EDUCATION/TRAINING COURSES

SRS staff training courses have been developed and upgraded over the years. Customers are encouraged to attend various courses dependent on their specific needs. The education/training courses focus on the following aspects of the retail industry:

NEW APPOINTMENT
DEPUTY MANAGING DIRECTOR

Andrew Bradford

We are delighted to announce that Andrew Bradford (previously Operations and Merchandise Director) has been appointed to the position of Deputy Managing Director SRS effective 1 July 2010. As well as retaining his current client responsibilities, Andrew's new appointment will see him becoming more involved in the overall management of the business. Andrew has assumed many key responsibilities during his career with SRS and has developed an in-depth knowledge of our business and the retail industry as a whole. We wish him every success in his new role.

SRS  DEVELOPS A KEY ACCOUNTS MANAGEMENT COURSE

"Informative"  "excellent"  "outstanding" were some of the words used by clients after participating in the Key Accounts Management Course held recently by SRS at the Reading Conference Centre, Germiston.  All in all described as an outstanding success!!  So much so, that for those who missed it and other SRS courses... more are planned.  Details will be posted on the website soon.

APPOINTED SALES DIRECTOR


Steve Donaldson, Divisional Chief Executive, has been appointed to the SRS board, effective 1 April 2010. To reflect this appointment, Steve's title has changed to Sales Director. The SRS team wish Steve every success.
