NOTE: The above independent and Cash & Carry stores are serviced in all areas with the exception of KZN and the Western Cape. These areas will be serviced in the near future.
Merchandising (The CORE of our business)
Our Merchandisers are responsible for the following:
- Negotiation of space allocation
- Packing of stock onto shelves and pegs
- Control of shelf-edge labels and pricing
- General housekeeping
- Building of promotional displays
- Control of point-of-sale material
- Implementation and maintenance of planograms where appropriate
In order to maintain the highest standards in all stores, area managers are dedicated to internal
monitoring of staff performance and maximising sales potential on all products.
Sales
Sales representatives call on all stores on a fortnightly basis.
They are responsible for the following:
- Negotiation of order quantities
- Order collection
- Ensuring that merchandising standards are maintained
- Negotiation of space allocation
- In-store promotional activity
- Stock counts where and when necessary
- Communication related to product returns
Trade Marketing
Within given parameters and in co-operation with our Customers, we offer the following services at buyer level:
- Product listings
- Negotiation of trading terms
- Trade reviews
- Negotiation of promotional activity
- We currently deliver Trade Marketing services from Johannesburg to all chain store Head Offices and Regional Offices in the Gauteng and KZN areas. This function is handled by our Eastern and Western Cape Franchisees in all relevant Head Offices and Regional Offices in these areas.
Customer Education
As of the beginning of 2009 SRS has introduced basic training programmes whereby various levels of customer employees are encouraged to attend information/training sessions which will assist with their understanding of the following aspects of our business:
- General business description
- What to expect of our service
- Specific sales and merchandising training
- Business history and operational structure
- Key Accounts Management, Administration and Finance
